Barry and Caroline Bryant of Lincoln had been passed a Help a Friend card and decided to talk to Bramley Manor to discuss what options were available to them as they had been in an Individual Voluntary Arrangement for 3 years.
They were aware that their property had a 4th year clause which required the property to be revalued and remortgaged with any equity being paid into the Individual Voluntary Arrangement.
It was felt a better option to negotiate a mutually agreed settlement figure with the Supervisor of the arrangement then facilitate a remortgage earlier and the IVA would be completed.
Rita and John Evans of Sheffield were both hospital workers and had heard Bramley Manor’s radio advert and contacted the office to discuss their situation.
They had been in an Individual Voluntary Arrangement for 3 years and paid £500 per month which was due to increase to £650 when their car finance had been completed. They realised that they should not have entered into IVA and that bankruptcy was a better option.
Bramley Manor assisted them through the process and within 3 months they had become bankrupt and their debts were cleared within a further month they were discharged and Bramley Manor were then able to a facilitate a mortgage to enable them to purchase a home near their place of work.
